Honda Beat, 1991-96. I've never heard of it, maybe it was only domestic and not exported to the USA.

Designed by Pininfarina, but Honda never mentioned that. The last car to be approved by Soichiro Honda before he died

  1. They were only sold in Japan so therefore they are all right hand drive, but some of them came here to Canada because you can import them here after 15 years and I believe you can import them to the US after 25 years.

  2. Japan has tons of cars that are produced for domestic consumption only, particularly their Kei cars. One of the few those, that made it to England was the Suzuki Cappuccino, which is very similar to the Honda Beat.( https://www.google.dk/search?q=suzuki+cappuccino&newwindow=1&biw=938&bih=990&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&sqi=2&ved=0ahUKEwiRyvOz29HMAhWIPRoKHRXUBigQsAQIGQ).

  3. Hi Jesse,
Yes, it was Japanese domestic market only, but you occasionally find them imported in the States and Canada. This thing is absolutely fantastic to drive. The Beat was built during the bubble economy, along with some fantastic K-cars of the them, AZ-1's another one, and a bit later Cappuccino. Suzuki also had this crazy thing called Alto Works Turbo. Good Ol'Days.

  4. I've seen a few of these for sale on Bringatrailer.com. I think you're right that they were only sold in Japan, but some are being imported to the US now, since they are over 25 years old.

  5. Good heavens friends! I was just researching for the post on the worlds biggest plow, and you were commenting over here about a car I was only mildly interested in. I'm wasting my time on plows!
