nothing mentions if there was a transmission safety shield... but I don't see one. You make more than 400 horsepower at the engine, you better shield your feet my friends




Other than a hole in the hump you can pass a basket ball through, is that a look at a shield, a blanket, the garage floor? I don't know.

  1. It appears to be what's left of a composite flywheel shield. (see the fiber strands) These hit the market during my time drag racing. I had one on my tube-chassis '68 Nova. It amazed me that they were SFI approved as required by NHRA.

    Someone hole-sawed the bellhousing for cooling the convertor, as can be seen by the chuck of now worthless aluminum.

  2. He'll probably switch to a Power-glide with a Big Block Mopar adapter plate.
