A moment to honor and remember Sgt Hector McPhail, (fellow soldier, fellow mechanic) with a mechanics workshop building. It was dedicated to him today (it's also close enough to Memorial Day)

Sgt McPhail was a vehicle technician with 33 years of service in the CAF.

He completed multiple operational tours and deployments including Cyprus, Namibia, Germany, CFS Alert, Syria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Afghanistan.

He received a mention in dispatch for actions taken under fire in Afghanistan on 29 Aug 06.

Sgt McPhail flawlessly exemplified the principles of leadership and always led by example. He was an excellent soldier and exceptional technician who ensured that any repair or recovery was done to the highest degree of accuracy. Sadly, Sgt McPhail lost his battle against cancer on 29 Aug 2011 at the age of 52.
