Isn't it time that Nascar gets rid of the boring cars, and goes back to factory stock cars?

The break with real cars came at the end of the cool muscle car era in about 1971. The cars being made began to suck, but race car makers still knew how to make incredible powerful aerodynamic cars,... so they broke from factory made cars, and went with the crap that ended up having no parts from a factory car.

Well, we now have 3 or more factory made muscle cars, so why not get back to factory stock racing, which would be slower and safer than the whatchamacallems on the high banks now.

The GT 350, the Hellcat, and the Z28 are amazing, and as close to 1970 relevancy as it gets in terms of highest power in history. The Cadillac makes 640 hp. The Corvette is no slough either.

Seems race on Sunday and sell on Monday could be here... but only if they get the real cars to the teams and tracks.

  2. Absolutely!!! I've been saying this for years! I think it would also increase public interest in NASCAR. Maybe it would cause the auto manufacturers to make some modern equivalents to legendary cars like the Daytona and Superbird.
